A legacy of hands and heart
It all started with a broken-down car and a man who believed in lending a hand. Basri was a mechanic in Jepara — a town famous for its masterful wooden craftsmanship — the kind of man who helped people whenever he could. When a foreigner searching for a trustworthy partner to build a furniture-making venture watched him work, he saw something rare. “Why don’t you join me?”
Basri traded wrenches for chisels, but his heart remained the same: rooted in trust, honesty, and the belief that work is only as good as the people behind it. Since 1996, Baroba has grown from a roadside repair into a thriving community of makers — a second-generation family company where artisans grow, and where trust and care shape every piece we create.
And just like that first day, Baroba remains a company that always stops to help.
